Pick up from your residential place or hotel at 0715am, then leave Nairobi with shuttle bus accompanied by our guide, it take about 3hours to arrive at the border between Kenya and Tanzania. On arrival you will visit the migration office for the issue of the visa just in case you don't have. The process normally takes about 45min depending with the Que and the number of travelers on that day. After getting your visa we will proceed on to Arusha which takes about 2 hours. On arrival you will check in the Hotel and there after have your lunch in Shop-rite which is a very common place visited by travelers for the varieties of restaurants of your choice. There after return to the hotel and our Guide will sort all your gears to verify if you have all gears required for trekking. Dinner and overnight in Arusha Tourist Hotel.
Wake up at 0630am, then breakfast will be served at 0730am, after breakfast transfer through villages and coffee plantations for 3 hours to the attractive wooden village of Nale Muru. This village is at the starting point of Rongai route, here you will also have your lunch served and there after you will sign formalities will be done by the rangers, at this time the guides will be weighing the luggage's as it is compulsory for each porter not to exceed 15kg. After filling in the form you begin the hike on a wide path winding through fields of maize and potatoes, then enter pine forest. You then start to climb gently but consistently through attractive forest that shelters a variety of wildlife. The forest begins to thin and Simba Camp (2,600m) is near the “First Cave” at the edge of the moorland zone with extensive views over the Kenyan plains. The walk normally takes 3–4 hours to get to the Simba Camp. Dinner and overnight in the Camp
On this day the trekking hours will be about 6-7 hours trek through the heather will bring you to second caves. At this point you will have your hot lunch and relax for like 45min as you take lunch, if the weather is clear, Mawenzi will be in plain view; a stunning sight. Enjoy stopping to see the exotic heather-zone flowers and plants which grow alongside the trail. A smaller track leads off the main trail through the moorland and towards Mawenzi. The trekking time is about 6-7 hours. The camp is surrounded by a landscape of bizarre plants and rock formations and caves. Dinner and overnight in Kikelewa Camp
This will be the best day for you as you traverse highland desert. Trek from the moorland and eventually into the stark highland desert towards Mawenzi, on trails not frequented by many tourists. We will stop along the way and enjoy your lunch as you reflect the beauty of the creation. From the Tarn Campsite you will enjoy a magnificent view of Mawenzi, with it’s steeply rising rock spires. Total trekking time is 5-6 hours for this day. Dinner and overnight in Mawenzi camp
The trekking time will be about 5 – 7 hours, though a relatively easy hike across the wide saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo. With hot lunch at the view of the peak, you will have your hot lunch and then ascend for the next 2 hours. The trek takes you across the massive saddle- the crossing is impressive and the landscape spectacularly stark. An early night is recommended as you’re attempting the summit from Mid night. Dinner and overnight in school Camp
Kick off is at midnight for your summit attempt. You’ll start this climb in the dark with headlamps or flashlights. It will be very cold until you start descending, so you will need all of your warm layers. This is, by far, the most difficult part of the trek. Slowly slowly, or, “pole pole,” and an optimistic attitude will get you there. The goal is to climb before dawn so that you can reach Uhuru Peak shortly after sunrise. Leave at 1 AM, switchback up steep scree or possibly snow, and reach Gilman’s Point on the crater rim at 5,861 m between 5 and 6 AM. Here, views of the fabled crater and its icecaps greets you. Another 2 hours of hiking along the crater rim takes you to Kilimanjaro’s true summit, Uhuru Peak. This is Africa’s highest point. At the peak we normally take about maximum 30min take your photos as the peak is windy and cold. After your summit stay, descend back to the camp, have lunch, rest, and descend cross the saddle to the Horombo Hut
A steady descent takes you down through moorland to Mandara Hut (2,700m.), the first stopping place at the Marangu route. We then continue descending through lovely lush forest on a good path to the National Park gate at Marangu (1,830m) for about 5-6 hours. Certificates are issued by the Kilimanjaro National Park for successful climbers . You will be transferred to the Hotel in Arusha for hot shower in Arusha Tourist Inn Hotel as you relax and share memories of the mountain.
