Itinerary

An early morning Pick up from your respective place at 07:30hrs, then we proceed to Nanyuki Town which takes like 3-4 hours. On arrival we have a stop over in Nanyuki shopping mall Nakumatt as well as a cup of Kenyan tea as we finalize with the purchase of food. There after we proceed to the Sirimon Gate, this normally takes not more than 1 hour, on arrival at the gate we will have hot  lunch at the gate as we formalize the entry process and payments of the fees as required by the Kenya Wildlife Service {KWS} Park Authority. After the process the walking start from the gate to the camp, this normally takes 2-3 hours to get to Old Moses which is about 3300m. Dinner and overnight in the camp.

After the breakfast, prepare yourself and re-arrange the bag as we ascend the Sirimon Track to Likii North Valley, in this beautiful little valley below the subsidiary peaks of Teleki and Sendeyo, two ancient parasitic vents of the main peaks. {3990m}. Climb out of the Nortn Valley and into the Mackinders Valley one of the broadest valleys on the Mountain, with many giant groundsels with good views of the main peaks and a brief stopover for picnic lunch along the valley. After lunch we will have like 3 hours to ascend to Shipton Camp jsut bellow the main peak of Batian and Nelion this normally takes 7-8hrs to get to the Shipton Camp. On arrival have a cup of hot coffee or tea as you wait for the dinner to be served. Dinner and overnight in Shipton Camp 4200m.

Alpine ascent to the highest peak Pt. Lenana {4985m}starts at 0200hrs, taking 3-4 hours to reach Pt. Lenana 4985m (the hikers summit) in time to watch the sunrise. En route up the North Face little used by tourists, Four hours stiff walking to the summit. This is the most challenging bit of the Mount Kenya Trekking and will require a strong mind to reach to the summit. On a clear day you can see the snow capped summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro miles away to the south. We normally get to the summit around 0600.0630hrs before the sun rise, take the photos as many as you can and then descend back to Shipton’s camp for breakfast. After the breakfast you will have like 2 hours relaxing in the Bandas as you prepare to descend further to Old Moses camp,dinner and overnight in the Old Moses Camp.

This day will be a great day for the trekkers, its an easy day to go by, take your breakfast around 0800am, then check out and start descending to the Park gate. Upon arrival you will be met by our driver who will transfer you to Samburu for 3 Days Safari. On arrival check in the camp or lodge for refresh up and there after have the afternoon game drive which will take you until 1830hours for dinner and overnight in the camp or lodge.

The whole day will be spent exploring this amazing game reserve, it gives you the refreshment of your mind as the park is not populated and not many people visits here, we have concentration of the Its home to the big five, Elephant, Lion, Rhino, Leopard, Buffalo, Gerenuk, Reticulated Giraffe, Somali Ostrich, Gravy Zebra, Besia Oryx, Endangered Wild Dog as well as Pun cake Tortoise – Endangered. There are over 450 species of birds identified and aquatic species in the Waso Nyiro River including, vultures, kingfishers, marabous, bateleurs, guinea fowl, Somali ostriches and others. The whole day will be spent exploring the park for the whole day game drive. Dinner and overnight in The Camp.

Samburu national reserve derives its name from the Samburu people of Kenya who have lived in the area for many years. Usaso Nyiro River cuts through this reserve, drawing a big population of Kenya animals to the park. The river bustles with activity from its huge population of Nile crocodile. The reserve’s topography is mainly open Savannah (grassland) with clusters of acacia trees, forest, thorn trees and grassland vegetation. Samburu National Reserve was one of the two areas in which conservationists George and Joy Adamson raised Elsa the Lioness. Their story was made famous by the bestselling book and award-winning movie “Born Free”. On this last day you will have a wake up call at 0600am, then proceed for the early morning game drive, this gives you a chance to spot the early morning Kills from the big five, after the gem drive return to the camp for the main breakfast. Visit the local Samburu villages where you get a chance to interact with the colorful Samburu people in their traditional setting and experience their culture. This is a good opportunity to purchase traditional Samburu souvenirs, art and collectibles. There after leave and head back to Nairobi with a stop over in Nanyuki for lunch. Arrive Nairobi late afternoon with a drop off to the hotel or to the airport.
