Itinerary

A full-day tour of the Rift Valley and Lake Nakuru could include the following itinerary: 8:00 AM: Departure from Nairobi Your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Nairobi or an agreed-upon location, and you’ll start your journey towards the Great Rift Valley. You’ll drive through the scenic landscape and admire the picturesque views along the way. 10:00 AM: Visit the Great Rift Valley viewpoint Stop at a viewpoint along the Great Rift Valley to take in the stunning panoramic view of the valley, with its escarpments and various lakes. 11:00 AM: Visit Lake Nakuru National Park Lake Nakuru National Park is famous for its flamingos, rhinos, and other wildlife. You’ll explore the park with your guide, looking out for flamingos and other bird species, as well as other animals like buffalos, zebras, and baboons. You can also go on a game drive through the park. 1:00 PM: Lunch break After a morning of exploring the park, it’s time to take a break and enjoy a packed lunch. You can have your picnic lunch at one of the picnic sites within the park or enjoy a hot lunch at a nearby restaurant. 2:00 PM: Visit Lake Nakuru viewpoint After lunch, head to the Lake Nakuru viewpoint to take in the stunning view of the lake and its surroundings. 3:00 PM: Visit Lake Elementaita On your way back to Nairobi, you can make a stop at Lake Elementaita. This alkaline lake is another great spot for bird watching and wildlife viewing. You’ll get to see flamingos, pelicans, and other bird species. 5:00 PM: Return to Nairobi After a day of exploring the Great Rift Valley and Lake Nakuru, you’ll be driven back to Nairobi, arriving at around 6:00 PM.
