Safari description: This is an exciting wildlife safari which takes you to enjoy the best of Kenya and Tanzania’s untamed wilderness. You will visit all the above-mentioned parks and reserves for wildlife viewing and will travel in a private 4x4 safari vehicle with the tour guide/driver and spend the nights in tented camps and lodges.  All the parks are home to small and large animals and you will be able to spot beautiful scenery, birds and reptiles as well as the big five and many plains game.

Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival – Nairobi
Upon your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be met by the Tour Manager and driver/guide and be briefed about your safari before being transferred to your hotel for check in. After check in you will be taken for a Nairobi city tour and afterwards to Giraffe Centre. In the evening you will be transferred back to your hotel for dinner and overnight. Day 2: Nairobi – Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast you will be met at your hotel at 7.30am and be taken to the shuttle bus stage which is near your hotel for departure to Arusha at 8.00am. Upon arrival at Arusha you will be met by our representative in Arusha who will welcome you and take you for lunch before driving 130km to Lake Manyara National Park for an afternoon game drive. The park is home to the rare tree climbing Lion, Hippo, Elephant, Zebra, Buffalo, Giraffe, Baboon, Blue and Vervet monkey, Warthog and more…About 350 species of birds have been recorded here. In the evening you will be transferred back to your tented camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Situated inside Lake Manyara National Park, the Lake Manyara is home to large numbers of flamingos, pelicans, storks and plentiful bird life; thus the park is regarded as the birding paradise of Tanzania. The park is also home to hippos that can be observed at a close range. The hot springs that trickles into shallow waters during the wet seasons and retreats into striking white soda deposit in its wake during the dry season is a major attraction in the park.Dinner and overnight at Migunga Tented Camp or similar

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park – Serengeti National Park
After early breakfast in Lake Manyara, you will enjoy game drives in the park a home to lion, leopard, Elephant, Cheetah, Buffalo, Zebra, Wildebeest, Eland, Wild dog, Gazelles, Crocs and more. Lot of birds includes the Eurasia migrants. You will have packed picnic lunch. Afterwards, depart to Serengeti National Park arriving in the evening. Upon arrival, you will check in to your tented camp and rest as you have dinner.

Serengeti National Park is the staging-zone for one the most spectacular events in the natural world: the annual migration of millions of wildebeest. This commences around June when over 1 million wildebeest, zebra and gazelle head for the Maasai Mara in Kenya in search of pasture. They are followed closely by the predators of the savanna- lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures. The Serengeti also has over 500 species of birds.Dinner and overnight at Seronera Tented Camp or similar

Day 4: Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Crater Rim
Enjoy early morning game drives in Serengeti to catch a glimpse of the early predators as they start off their day. After your morning game drive, you will return to your tented camp for breakfast. After breakfast, you will check out and depart to Ngorongoro crater rim with game viewing and packed lunch en route. Upon arrival, you will check in to your tented camp and have dinner.

The first view of the Ngorongoro Crater is breath taking. The huge caldera (collapsed volcano) covering 25 km in size and 600m deep is an amazing site of the crater. The crater is home to Tanzania’s only remaining Black Rhino population. The elephant, Hippo, Zebra, Antelope, Gazelle, and small creatures such as frogs, snakes and serval cats are also common in this beautiful reserve. The Maskat Soda Lake located inside the crater is a great attraction for flamingos and other water birds making the crater a bird watcher’s haven.  The crater is also known for its rich history.  It is believed that the earliest sign of mankind (the homo-habilis) was spotted here. It is in this crater that hominid footprints are preserved in a volcanic rock 3.6 m years old.Dinner and overnight at Rhino Tented Camp or similar

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Tour – Arusha Town
After early breakfast you will descend into the Crater floor for game drives. All the BIG FIVE Rhino Lion, Leopard, Buffalo and Elephant live in this wonderful caldera, others are Zebra, Hippo, Wildebeest, Hyena and more…Birds includes flamingos on the Soda lake, Geese, Storks, Vultures and more…Your lunch will be served in the picnic site in the Crater at Ngoitoktok swamp a Hippo pool. After lunch, proceed with fame viewing while ascending the Crater and drive on back to Arusha for overnight.Dinner and overnight at Charity Hotel or similar

Day 6: Arusha – Amboseli National Park
After breakfast, you will be met at your hotel at 7.30am and be transferred to catch the 8.00am bus to Namanga. Upon arrival at Namanga you will proceed with immigration formalities before being met by the driver for transfer to Amboseli National Park. You will arrive at your tented camp in time for lunch and afterwards depart for an afternoon game drive. In the evening you will be transferred back to your camp for dinner.

Amboseli National Park is famous for its huge elephant herds. Africa's highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro sits in the upper slopes of Amboseli national park. Mt Kilimanjaro snow white peaks lie across the border of Tanzania. Seeing Kilimanjaro hovering above the clouds in the early hours of the morning is quite an unforgettable experience. For an enthusiastic photographer, taking animal pictures arising against the dramatic backdrop of the mountain is quite a thrill. Apart from the elephants, buffalos, black rhino and other plain animals are in plenty.Lunch, dinner and overnight at Kibo Safari Camp or similar

Day 7: Amboseli National Park
After breakfast, depart with packed picnic lunch for a full day of game viewing as you enjoy more fascinating and memorable morning and afternoon game viewing drives with a picnic lunch en route. Enjoy watching the large elephant herds, the beautiful view of the highest mountain in Africa, Mt. Kilimanjaro and its snow covered peaks. Its snowcapped summit dominates the landscape and on a clear day is easily seen during early morning and late afternoon hours. In the evening be transferred back to your tented camp for overnight stay and dinner.

With an interesting combination of breath-taking scenery, people from a unique culture and beautiful animals are what make the park fascinating. Beautifully situated at the foot of the towering Kilimanjaro, it is the home of the brightly painted Maasai tribe. You may be able to see lions, cheetahs, spotted hyena, wild dogs, Kaffir Buffalos, zebras and herds of elephants. All this animals come to drink water at the water holes consisting of small lakes or muddy bonds kept filled up by the melting snows of Kilimanjaro.All meals and overnight at Kibo Safari Camp or similar

Day 8: Amboseli National Park – Tsavo East National Park
After breakfast, you will depart Amboseli and head into Tsavo East National Park for game viewing and bird watching. You will arrive in time for lunch at your lodge and thereafter enjoy game viewing till evening.

Tsavo East National Park is one of the planet’s last biodiversity strongholds.  The park features bushy grasslands, open plains, semi-arid acacia scrub and woodlands.  It offers a vast untapped arena of arid bush which is washed by the azure and emerald meanderings of the Galana River, guarded by the limitless lava reaches of the Yatta Plateau and patrolled by some of the largest elephant herds in Kenya.  The park offers some of the most magnificent game drives in the world, vast herds of dust-red elephants, fat pods of hippo, giant crocodile and a variety of bird life set against a backdrop of endless bush.Lunch, dinner and overnight at Ashnil Aruba Lodge or similar

Day 9: Tsavo East National Park - Tsavo West National Park
Spend the morning game viewing within Tsavo East National Park till mid morning. You will then depart to Tsavo West National Park where you will check in, have lunch and then depart for afternoon game viewing.  In the evening you will be transferred back to your lodge for dinner and overnight. 

Shetani lava flows found in Tsavo West National Park got its name from molten lava that spewed from the earth 200 years ago.  The fiery fury was thought by the local people to be the work of the devil, hence the name ‘Shetani’, which means ‘Devil’ in Swahili.  The glorious Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary also has a growing population of the endangered black rhino which was a victim of poaching in the early 1960s.  Lake Jipe also offers a memorable experience as it is abundant with aquatic life.  Boat rides are a sure way to blow your mind away as you sail through the clear waters watching different species of fish and aquatic animals enjoy the suns rays penetrating through the water.  Bird watching is also a major activity in the park.Lunch, dinner and overnight at Kilaguni Safari Lodge or similar

Day 10: Tsavo West National Park – Nairobi
Enjoy an early morning game drive within Tsavo West then check out and depart back to Nairobi. You will arrive in time for a late lunch at your hotel, then have the afternoon at leisure. Lunch, dinner and overnight at Kenya Comfort Hotel

Day 11: Nairobi – Samburu National Reserve
After breakfast you will be met at your hotel and be transferred to Samburu National Reserve arriving in the afternoon. Upon arrival, you will check in to your lodge and have lunch. After lunch and some rest, you will depart for afternoon game viewing till evening.

Samburu National reserve is a wildlife haven. Here you will spot Africa's big cats-lions, cheetahs and the elusive leopard. Some animals are unique to this northern Kenya Park; gravy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, kudus and gerenuk. The Ewaso Nyiro River, the boundary with the neighboring buffalo springs national reserve, is where the elephants buffaloes and other animal species gather for a drink. You will find the scenic semiarid landscape quite dramatic. The reserve is located within the lands of the colorful semi-nomadic Samburu tribesmen.Lunch, dinner and overnight at Samburu Sopa Lodge or similar

Day 12: Samburu National Reserve
You will spend the day viewing wildlife within this extensive reserve. You will carry packed picnic lunches to avoid disruption of game viewing. Samburu is famous for its northern specialties found nowhere else in Kenya. 

In addition to Kamunyak, the renowned lioness famous for adopting oryx calves, the Samburu National Park boasts of some several species of animals which are considered unique to the region, including its unique dry-country animal life. All three big cats, Lion, Cheetah and Leopard can be found here, as well as Elephants, Buffalos and Hippos. Other mammals frequently seen in the park include Gerenuk, Grant's gazelle, Kirk's Dik-dik, Impala, Waterbuck, Gravy’s Zebra, Beisa Oryx and Reticulated Giraffe. Rhinos are no longer present in the park due to heavy poaching. There are over 350 species of birds which include Somali Ostrich, Kingfisher, Sunbird, Bee-eater, Marabou Stork, Tawny Eagle, Bateleur, Guinea fowl and Vultures. Day 13: Samburu National Reserve – Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast, you will depart Samburu for Lake Nakuru National Park where you will enjoy bird watching and game viewing. En route you will visit Thompson Falls for a scenic view of the falls. Upon arrival you will check in to your tented camp and have lunch. After lunch, you will venture into the park for afternoon game viewing. In the evening you will be transferred back to your camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Dubbed ‘the greatest bird spectacle on earth due to the millions of fuchsia-pink flamingo that flock to feed on the teeming algae of its alkaline waters, Lake Nakuru is also an ornithologist’s paradise and also a sanctuary for both black and white rhino. Its pink-frosted shores and sky-mirrored waters also yield some of the most evocatively beautiful photo images in Africa. The park offers an incredible 450 different species of water, fish-eating, terrestrial and migratory birds including the pelican, fish eagle, secretary bird, heron, egret, hammerkop and grebe. Established as Kenya’s first rhino sanctuary, the park now hosts one of the largest black rhino concentrations in the country while substantial numbers of white rhino have also been introduced. Day 14: Lake Nakuru National Park – Maasai Mara Game Reserve
You will enjoy an early pre breakfast game drive to get a chance to catch the early risers as they start off their day. After breakfast at your tented camp, you will depart Lake Nakuru for Maasai Mara arriving in time for check in and lunch at your tented camp. After lunch and rest, you will depart for afternoon game viewing drive till evening.

The Maasai Mara, now the New 7th wonder of the world and 4th most preferred tourist destination in the world is a home to wildlife in such abundance ad variety that it is difficult to imagine The annual migration of the wildebeest and the zebras starts from the Serengeti as they search for water and pasture while at the same time being followed on their heels by the predators of the savannah; Lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena, and vultures. It hosts over 450 species of animals which includes lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes and elephants.Lunch, dinner and overnight at Enchore Tented Camp or similar

Day 15: Maasai Mara Game Reserve
You will spend the day game viewing within the extensive Mara Reserve wildlife viewing and taking photographs. You will carry packed picnic lunches and proceed with the drive till dusk.  You will also have the option of taking a pre-breakfast balloon flight safari, at an extra cost. You may also opt to go for a cultural visit to the nearby Maasai Villages.

In November 2006 the Maasai Mara was named as the New 7th wonder of the world because of what experts termed as "the uniqueness of the area and the preservation it provides to so many species living in harmony". It is understandable because this annual migration is the greatest wildlife spectacle on earth.

Optional Hot Air Balloon Flight – US$450 per person extra

You can opt to carry out your game viewing activity on an adventurous balloon flight over the spectacular Mara at an extra cost. This package includes a bush breakfast in the wild! All meals and overnight at Enchore Tented Camp or similar

Day 16: Maasai Mara Game Reserve – Nairobi
After breakfast you will depart Maasai Mara for Nairobi and be taken to the Sheldrick’s Elephant Orphanage to spend some time with the baby elephants. You will then be transferred back to your hotel for lunch. You may then opt to have the afternoon at leisure or be taken for a city tour or any other excursion that you may wish to go for. Lunch, dinner and overnight at Kenya Comfort Hotel or similar

Day 17: Nairobi – Departure
Depending on the time of your flight you will be met and be transferred to the airport for your outbound flight to your next destination.
