Day to Day Tour Plan

Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu

Pick up at 0730hrs after the breakfast from the hotel then head to Mt.Kenya region with a stop over in Nanyuki Town for early lunch, Nanyuki is the base of Mt.Kenya climbing and the town is inhabited by foreigners as its serenity. After lunch proceed on to Isiolo and then up to Samburu, arrive late afternoon and upon arrival check in to Samburu Ashnil, relax for 1 hr or so and then proceed for the late afternoon game drive until 1830hrs, Samburu game reserve is  famous as the place for the Samburu semi-nomadic tribesmen, the reticulated giraffe, the Grevy’s zebra gerenuk, beisa oryx and a host of the big game including elephant and lion. return to the Samburu Sopa Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Samburu Full Day

On this day you will have the full day game drive in this park where you will be able to spot all the big five and more to be seen here is the leopard and cheetah. Dinner and overnight in the the Lodge Samburu Sopa Lodges

Day 3: Samburu – Tree Tops Aberdares

Wake up call at 0600am, have a cup of hot coffee then proceed for the early morning game drive, this gives you a chance to spot the early morning Kills from the big five, this early morning brings you close to the leopard, cheetah, lions as they search for the morning kills because during the day its hot and they spent most of their time resting in the shade or caves which makes it hard for you to spot them, so this early morning game drive is one of the beautiful game ever in Samburu, it take you until 0930hrs when you return to the camp and have the main breakfast, there after check out the camp and drive to Mount Kenya Region to Aberdares Treetops. This is famous for its the place where the queen received the news of her appointment while in Kenya. On arrival drive to the Lodge for evening game viewing and over night in treetops Lodge.

Day 4: Tree Tops Lake Nakuru

You will have your breakfast and then have a clear morning from the Lodge you will be able to see lots of Elephants in the water hole, this is one of the reasons why most people prefer viviting the Lodge. There after proceed to Lake Nakuru and  spend the whole day in this park,Lake Nakuru National Park, where you will have a chance to visit a unique sanctuary catering for a size able number of the endangered rhinoceros and the Rothschild giraffe. Water bucks as well as the predators such as the lion and leopard are common at the park. Also to be seen is a myriad different variety of bird life. Dinner and overnight in the Lake nakuru lodge

Day 5: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara

On this day you will have an early morning game drive as from 0630hrs to 0930hrs,  in and around the lake there after return to the Lodge for main breakfast, check out the Lodge around 1030hrs and proceed for another game drive until 1230hrs,then leave for Masai Mara arriving late afternoon, if time allows you will have the afternoon game drive until 1830hrs. Dinner and overnight in Masai Mara Sopa Lodges

Day 6: Masai Mara Full Day

The whole day explore the parks amazingly high concentration of game. This game reserve is Kenya’s finest wildlife sanctuary. Including migrants, well over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. Mara plains are filled with migrating wildebeest and zebra, there is also resident wildlife year round.The Mara’s gentle fertile climate bounded by The Rift, offers perhaps the richest stocked reserve set within some 1672 sq km – an unlimited spectacle of wildlife. Located 268 km west of Nairobi, the emphasis here is on game. Herds of immense Elephants, browse among Lion, Buffalo, Thompson Gazelle, Zebra and Topi. You may occasionally sight a Rhino or Leopard. In the Mara River Hippos play and Cross bask on the banks. The annual migration of a million Wildebeest follows the rains north.After exploring the park return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Masai Mara – Lake Naivasha

Wake up call at 0630hrs, then have a cup of hot coffee and then proceed for the early morning game drive until 0930hrs, return to the camp for the main breakfast, after the breakfast check out the camp and then proceed to Lake Naivasha, on arrival check in for lunch and then in the afternoon have the walk along the lake with the help of the guide as well as have the boat ride which will take you to the Hippo pool. Then return to the camp for dinner and overnight in Naivasha Fish Eagle camp

Day 8: Lake Naivasha – Amboseli

After the breakfast at 0930hrs, check out the camp and proceed to Amboseli on this day you will have lunch along the way. You will arrive in Amboseli late afternoon, upon arrival check in the camp and then you will refresh up and then proceed for the late afternoon game drive until 1830hrs. Then return to Kibo Tented Luxury Tented camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Amboseli Full Day

Full day of game viewing in the Park. Amboseli National Park is located at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain. The snows of the mountain form a majestic backdrop to one of Kenya’s most popular spectacular displays of wildlife – lion, elephant, leopard, rhino,cheetah, buffalo and host of plains game, creating Kenya’s most sought after photographer’s paradise. Meals and overnight at the Amboseli Luxury Kibo Tented camp

Day 10: Amboseli – Arusha

Have your final game drive as you check out the park, drive to Namanga border which is between Kenya and Tanzania, at this point you will get you visa which normally takes like 30min to process just in case you dont have one, then after the migration formalities we proceed on to Arisha arriving late early afternoon with a drop off to Arusha tourist Hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 11: Arusha –  Serengeti National Park

In the morning you’ll start your journey to Serengeti National Park, passing Ngorongoro Crater and driving through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Conservation area means that the area is a protected environment for the wild life but there are also villages where the original Maasailive.Start your game drive after Naabi Gate where you have lunch and enjoy the wild life driving towards Serengeti Kubu Kubu, FB www.tanganyikawildernesscamps.com (opens in June 2016) set up as Lake Masek Tented Camp with swimming pool)

Day 12: Serengeti National Park (full day)

Leave in the early morning with a lunch box towards North Serengeti to increase your chances of seeing the Great Migration along the Grumeti or Mara Rivers but also enjoy other wild life in this area like lions, leopards, cheetah’s, buffaloes, giraffe, antelopes and a lot of different bird species, dinner and overnight in Mbugani Bologonya, FB www.mbuganicamps.com

Day 13: Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro

Early morning game drive in Serengeti; after lunch game drive en route to Naabi Gate, after which you drive to Ngorongoro Willdife Lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 14: Ngorongoro Crater World Heritage Site – Arusha

On this day the breakfast will be served as early as 0700hrs. After the breakfast check out the camp early in the morning as at 0730am, we will descend to the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater for a full day exploitative game drive tour. We take a picnic lunch and this will be served in the crater next to the hippo pool, at this point you will be able to stretch your feet and visit the washrooms. The Ngorongoro Crater is recognized as a UNESCO protected World Heritage Site and forms part of an international biosphere reserve. The crater measures approximately 300 sq km and measures about 19 km across. The floor of the crater is 600 meters below the rim, (which is over 2200 m.a.s.l), and is home to an abundance of wildlife including black rhino, lion, cheetah, buffalo, elephants and a plethora of antelope species. Late in the afternoon we ascend the crater and then proceed to Arusha arriving late evening with a drop off to the hotel of your choice.

Day 15: Moshi – Machame Gate To Machame Camp

After the breakfast drive to Machame Park Gate,this normally takes 40min to get to the Machame Gate. On arrival you go through the registration with the park authority as we weigh the bags and food,this process normally takes like at least 45min depending with the number of people.The Kilimanjaro trek in this World Heritage Site begins at the end of the tarmac road, walking for about 6 hrs, gradually ascending through the cloud forests of Kilimanjaro and onto giant heather forested hills at Machame Camp (2850 m).

Day 16 : Machame Hut to Shira Camp

Trekkers ascend an enjoyable ridge, traverse along a stream gorge and finally emerge on the Shira plateau volcanic moorland (3810 m). Total trekking time is approximately 6 hrs.

Day 17: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp

Trekkers follow the trail to Lava Tower (>4600 m), have lunch prior to spending an hour at Lava Towers, and then descend into the scenic Barranco gorge. Continue to Barranco Camp at 3975 m. Total trekking time is approximately 6 hrs.

Day 18: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

Trekkers cross the Barranco Valley, ascend the well known and fascinating Barranco wall (not technical climbing), then follow the Kibo South Circuit. Descend and ascend again for about 2 additional hours to arrive at Karanga Camp (4000 m) for lunch and overnight. Total trekking time is approximately 5 hrs.

Day 19 : Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

Another half day trek takes you across some splendid volcanic lands, with Kibo Volcano (highest of the Kilimanjaro volcanoes) and its remaining glaciers as the backdrop. Enjoy the final ascent to Barafu Camp (4673 m). Total trekking time between camps is approximately 5 hrs. After lunch and a couple of hours of rest, you begin a short trek up to Kibo Camp for further acclimatization, and then descend for dinner. Sleep until 11:00 p.m. and then begin all night ascent. The summit is attainable since you should be properly acclimatized by now.

Day 20 : Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Lower Mweka Camp

Trekkers move “pole pole” (Swahili for “slowly”) to the north-west, with mountain guides at their side, up a defined trail toward Stella Point on the crater rim. Summit day is scheduled to coincide with a waxing moon, which will be nearly full. This 6-hour trek to Stella Point (5756 m) is the most mentally and physically challenging on the route. Temperature is usually -10° Celsius, and winds can make it even more challenging. At Stella Point, the group re-nourishes, enjoys the famous Kilimanjaro sunrise, and then continues for another hour to the true summit of Africa, Uhuru Peak. Photos and celebrations ensue. A slow descent back to Stella Point, followed by a quicker descent on scree slope trails back to Barafu Camp for a well deserved rest and brunch. Break camp and hike down to Lower Mweka Camp by mid-afternoon. This is the day you appreciate your trekking poles and honor your guides and porters – you descend over 2800 meters from Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp. If weather thwarts your summit bid, an extra day has been allowed if the group decides delay is advisable.

Day 21: Mweka Camp To Moshi – Zanzibar

This is the last day of the trek. The 3 hr descent to Mweka Gate is very enjoyable, provides good views of yesterday’s accomplishment, and provides excellent photo opportunity of Mount Kilimanjaro’s unique vegetation of the cloud forest. Check-out at Mweka trail head, and then shuttle to a welcoming Hotel in Moshi for refreshments as you wait to Zanzibar the following morning.
