Itinerary

Morning: Your driver-guide picks you up from your Nairobi hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) early in the morning. Depart Nairobi and drive west via the scenic Great Rift Valley, stopping at the Rift Valley Viewpoint for photos. Midday: Proceed through the town of Narok and arrive at your tented camp outside the Mara gates in time for check-in and a warm lunch. Late Afternoon: Embark on your first introductory evening game drive in the reserve, searching for lions, elephants, cheetahs, and zebras as the sun sets over the savanna. Evening: Return to camp for dinner and overnight.

Morning & Afternoon: After an early breakfast, set out with a packed picnic lunch for a full day of game viewing. Traverse the open grasslands and riverine forests to track big cats, large herds of herbivores, and varied birdlife. Midday: Enjoy a picnic lunch under an acacia tree or at a designated site overlooking the Mara River, home to hippos and Nile crocodiles. Late Afternoon: Continue tracking wildlife on the return journey across the reserve. Evening: Return to the camp for dinner, a campfire gathering, and overnight.

Morning & Afternoon: Dedicate another full day to exploring deeper, less-frequented sectors of the Mara or following specific wildlife movements. Depending on the season, this day offers ample opportunity to track resident pride dynamics, leopards in the riverine bush, or seasonal migratory herds. Midday: Second field picnic lunch inside the reserve. Evening: Return to camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Early Morning: Embark on an early morning game drive when big cats and predators are most active before the heat of the day. Midday: Return to the camp for a late breakfast and time to relax. Afternoon: Visit a traditional local Maasai village (Manyatta) to learn about the Maasai culture, traditional dances, beadwork, and customs. Evening: Final dinner and overnight at your tented camp.

Early Morning: Optional early morning game drive or a leisurely breakfast at the camp. Midday: Check out and begin the return journey to Nairobi with a lunch stop en route in Narok town. Late Afternoon: Arrive in Nairobi by late afternoon (around 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM) with a drop-off at your hotel or the airport for your onward flight.
